My goal with writing this is not to show you “how to go viral”.
I’m more interested in sharing my thoughts on why your AI-generated content isn’t working in today’s LinkedIn environment, and what to do instead. Because the problem isn’t the tool. It’s most likely to be how you’re using it.

What works on LinkedIn has fundamentally simplified in recent years. Despite all the advice about optimal posting times and hashtag strategies, LinkedIn’s algorithm in 2025 has one primary focus: dwell time.
If people stop scrolling to read your content, you get reach. If they don’t, you don’t.
It really is that simple.
It starts with the hook.
What’s a hook?
It’s the first 1-2 lines that determine whether someone keeps reading or scrolls past you forever.
Here’s quick example of a good hook:

Your hook needs to do two specific things:

Ok, so lets have a look at the below hook:

“Engineers make the worst founders. Now, I know what you’re thinking-Musk was an engineer. Gates was an engineer. Zuckerberg was an engineer. But those are the exceptions.”
Who’s this hook for?
Engineers with founder ambitions.
What keeps them reading?
The tension between the provocative claim and their examples that seem to contradict it.
Lets see the second one I shared:

If you’re a top 1% engineer, you’re most likely to be a bottom 1% founder.
Who’s the target audience?
There’s two:

<li>Engineers with huge egos that consider themselves in the “top 1%” (self-proclaimed),</li>
<li>Founders with an engineering background.</li>
</ol>
What keeps them reading?
<ol>
<li>The “top 1% engineers” read because their ego was badly injured with the first line. They will then open the comments, read other comments, like all comments made by “others like them” that had disagreed with the post, and likely … make a deep comment of their own to come up with a “logical reason” why the post is wrong.
(All of this increases the dwell time)</li>
<li>Founders with an engineering background read it because … it’s relatable. Most of the ACTUAL “top 1% engineers” that go through the founder’s journey … know that there’s so much skin you have to shed, so many habits and whatnot. So they relate with it, read it and SHARE it with others in DMs.</li>
</ol>
Anyways, setting these two examples that i know firsthand, aside.
Here’s another type that works:
“I’ve built three startups from $0 to $12 million in ARR. If I were building a B2B SaaS company in 2025, here are the 10 things I’d do differently.”
This works because:

It establishes credibility upfront
</li>

It clearly signals who should read (B2B SaaS founders)
</li>

It promises specific, actionable value
</li>

Compare either of those to: “Here’s a thread on how to think about scaling your startup…”
This fails because:

It doesn’t signal who specifically should care
</li>
<li>
It doesn’t create tension or promise specific value
</li>
<li>
It looks like every other post in the feed
</li>
</ul>
The best hooks don’t try to explain a topic.
They aim to stop someone mid-scroll by speaking directly to them.
<h2>Movie Trailers, Not Plot Summaries</h2>
Think about the last great movie trailer you saw.
Did it summarize the plot?
No.
It showed just enough to make you want to see how it all plays out.
Your LinkedIn hook works the same way:

It frames the journey without revealing every step

“But I need to establish my expertise first-”
No, you don’t. No one cares about your expertise if they don’t care about your topic. Show the problem first. Then offer your solution.
This is why those “5 tools to improve productivity” posts die in obscurity. There’s no tension or promise driving people to read. It’s just a list nobody asked for.

Now your image creates contrast with expectations. It adds a layer to the story.
Here’s what most people miss about images:

Once LinkedIn’s algorithm flags an account for suspicious automation activity, there’s often little recourse.
I’ve been building LinkedIn tools for years, and I’ve watched the platform’s stance on automation evolve. What worked in 2021 is getting accounts banned in 2025.
So when we built our new LinkedIn integration for Claude using MCP (Model Context Protocol), we approached it from a radically different angle than most tools on the market.

This isn’t just a theoretical risk - it’s explicitly outlined in their policies.
The message is clear: LinkedIn wants control over how their platform is accessed programmatically. And they’re willing to penalize both tool creators and users to maintain that control.
<h2>Why Chrome Extensions Are Particularly Vulnerable</h2>
Chrome extensions have become the go-to method for LinkedIn automation, but they’re fundamentally flawed from a security perspective:

They operate in a gray area of LinkedIn’s Terms of Service Most extensions use browser automation to mimic human behavior. If you review <a href="https://legal.linkedin.com/api-terms-of-use">LinkedIn’s API Terms of Use</a>, you’ll find this is explicitly forbidden. The terms clearly prohibit “scraping, spidering or crawling the LinkedIn website” and “using automated methods to access or use the LinkedIn services.”

They’re built on unstable ground LinkedIn frequently changes its page structure, breaking extensions and forcing hasty updates.

A recent <a href="https://www.linkedin.com/blog/member/trust-and-safety/update-hi-q-legal-proceeding">article on LinkedIn scraping lawsuits</a> reported that LinkedIn is actively pursuing legal action against companies that scrape their data, showing just how serious they are about enforcement. This isn’t just about technical measures - they’re willing to take legal steps to protect their platform.
I’ve watched countless Chrome extensions rise and fall as LinkedIn identifies and blocks them. It’s a cat-and-mouse game where users’ accounts become the collateral damage.

Trying to figure out what exactly went wrong, what could I have done better.
That’s when I realized: “Hey, this could be great content for a LinkedIn post”.
Unfortunately, my workflow for posting so far was:

That’s a lot of work.
What if I could… use LiGo inside Claude?
That’s when it hit me.
What if there was a way to go from:
“This would make a great LinkedIn post”
To:
“This post is now published on LinkedIn”
…all without leaving Claude?
So we built exactly that. Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration that connects Claude directly to LinkedIn through LiGo.
After several weeks of internal testing, I’m excited to finally share how you can use it too.

Let’s get the technical stuff out of the way first.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is what enables Claude to communicate securely with other platforms - in this case, LinkedIn.
Unlike sketchy browser extensions that scrape LinkedIn data (which LinkedIn actively blocks – ours doesn’t btw, just so you know), MCP uses official APIs - the proper, sanctioned channels that keep your account safe.
For founders and agency owners, this means something simple but powerful:

You have two options to set up the integration - an automated way and a manual way.

Now for the fun part. Open Claude and try something like:

Why? More creators, more noise. If you don’t spark engagement now and then, your ideal buyers may never see you in their feeds.
The good news is that you can engineer those impression spikes without selling your soul to the meme gods or resorting to “broetry” posts.
I’m about to share the exact workflow that took three of my last five posts beyond 10K impressions (two crossed 100K+ impressions) in under 48 hours.
